Arkansas participated in the National Association of State Chief Information Officers (NASCIO) enterprise architecture assessment process and leveraged its findings in making improvements to its solutions delivery process. In addition, Arkansas has adopted the concept of project management discipline, which has resulted in a significantly higher rate of success in information technology projects.

Connecticut will continue planning for future phases of the state’s integration initiative using funds from the National Governors Association/Bureau of Justice Assistance Justice IT Integration Project. In conjunction with the planning, the state will proceed with completion of existing work. |

U.S. Department of Justice's Grant Program Success Stories—Florida
Using Byrne funds, Florida developed a program to educate children, parents, and mentors on rejecting illegal drugs, alcohol, and tobacco use. It enables law enforcement officers to refer juveniles to the alternative-to-incarceration program, where staff will screen them and their families for social service needs, develop case plans, and monitor progress. Upon admission to this program, 87 percent of juveniles who successfully completed it avoided entering the juvenile justice system. |

U.S. Department of Justice's Grant Program Success Stories—New Hampshire
In New Hampshire, Byrne funds were used to support the Youth-at-Risk Crime Prevention Programs, aimed at reducing the rate of juvenile crime by providing at-risk youth with early and intensive intervention. New Hampshire collaborates with schools, law enforcement, the juvenile service department, and the community, including organizations like Big Brothers Big Sisters. Grant funds were also used to increase public awareness, training and technical assistance, and supporting mentoring projects. |

By participating in the NASCIO enterprise architecture assessment process, New York gained a tool that will guide the state toward a more mature and responsive enterprise architecture program. New York was also able to engage in state-to-state collaboration in sharing best practices for project management, technology architecture, and governance, which will lead to improved interjurisdictional relationships. |

North Carolina participated in the NASCIO enterprise architecture assessment process and used its findings in formulating the next steps of the state’s enterprise architecture program. The recommendations confirmed the state’s own assessment and provided objective information to use in requesting additional resources. North Carolina plans to conduct this type of assessment annually. |
