Many different categories are available in the Justice Standards Clearinghouse for Information Sharing (JSC or Clearinghouse). Users will find many types of standards represented in the Clearinghouse, including data/record format, database design, functional requirements, interface, interoperability, language/protocol, security, and testing/quality assurance standards. The cataloged information represents local, state, tribal, federal, international, and industry standards applicable to the justice area. Clearinghouse users may also review applicable requirements for designing new and upgrading current information technology systems.

Description / Abstract:
The purpose of the N-DEx IEPD is to provide law enforcement agencies documentation that lists exchange specifications to be used for the exchange of criminal justice information that is complete, accurate, and timely. The first release of the N-DEx IEPD is based on the NIEM IEPD Template Requirements document and contains written documentation, schemas, instance documents, style sheet, a mapping spreadsheet, and additional documentation.

Benefits of Standard:
Currently, there is a need for a nationwide standard for law enforcement information sharing.. The N-DEx IEPD will promote a standard for information sharing on a national level for law enforcement and criminal justice entities.
Industry Endorsements:
The N-DEx Concept of Operations was developed and reviewed by law enforcement and criminal justice agency representatives at all levels of government (state local, tribal, and federal). This standard was developed in compliance with the N-DEx ConOps. .
Other Standards Required for Implementation:
This standard reuses components from the National Information Exchange Model (NIEM) version 1.0 and the Law Enforcement Information Sharing (LEISP) Exchange Specification (LEXS) version 3.0.4
Notes:
The attached documentation is the N- DEx IEPD Version 1.0.1. This is a maintenance update of N-DEx IEPD version 1.0.0, which corrects typographical errors and sets certain Business Rules. There are no schema changes from version 1.0.0.
