The Police Foundation and Vera Institute of Justice are leading an effort to harness the power of CompStat in a new tool that provides police with a more complete picture of public safety, and enables departments to make decisions based on community needs and priorities. CompStat360 comprehensively addresses and promotes the foundations of effective policing. This model employs a 360-degree approach to data collection, analysis, and decision-making to enable law enforcement agencies to approach public safety comprehensively by considering crime and public safety concerns, community priorities, and organizational and policing workforce impacts and resources. With support from the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), Office of Justice Programs (OJP), Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), the Police Foundation and Vera are now able to provide agencies across the country with site-specific technical assistance and training on CompStat360 and putting it into practice. In each site, we will work with law enforcement and community representatives to implement, pilot, assess, and enhance this new model.
