Case Study: Northern Ohio Violent Crime Consortium

The Cleveland Division of Police, on behalf of the Northern Ohio Violent Crime Consortium (NOVCC) and the Northeast Ohio Regional Fusion Center (NEORFC), developed this case study as part of the Nationwide Crime Analysis Capability Project. The NOVCC had successfully established and/or enhanced the crime analysis capacity for eight northern Ohio cities—Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Elyria, Lorain, Mansfield, Toledo, and Youngstown. This project was used to build on the infrastructure, knowledge, and experience of NOVCC to obtain refined data for mission analysis at the NEORFC, to develop crime analysis understanding and capacity in targeted suburbs in Cuyahoga County, and to enhance the NOVCC regional partnership.
