In recent years, the importance of information sharing among the nation’s law enforcement agencies has come to the forefront, particularly regarding criminal intelligence. This training is designed to enhance the sharing of information by examining the federal guideline governing the operation of federally funded criminal intelligence systems—28 CFR Part 23, presenting effective information sharing tools, and addressing the importance of privacy and civil liberties within these areas. • Intelligence initiatives and trends • Privacy and civil liberties issues • Overview of 28 CFR Part 23 Instruction will be provided by subject-matter experts with experience regarding law enforcement intelligence and privacy issues.
