Association of State Correctional Administrators/Correctional Technology Association Correctional Standards Project- ACCS

The ACCS Project will define common business functional descriptions of the Correction functions and processes with an identification of the data groups required for each function and process. The data group will be required to identify those data elements required by the Association of State Administrators (ASCA) Performance Measurement initiative. Additionally the ASSC Project will define and document in XML the most commonly used data exchanges that allow for interoperability between Corrections and other entities. Reduce the overall cost of Correctional Information Systems Management Projects Enhance operation efficiency and effectiveness. Ensure that states apply consistent quality standards as they develop their respective systems. Lower the risk of project implementation. Enhance states' abilities to measure program effectiveness and outcomes Build upon common requirements making it easier for states to participate in consortium projects and therefore benefiting from cost and risk sharing Take advantage of new and cost saving technologies used in other states.
