DRAFT

Justice and Public Safety XML Data Element Definitions [aka Reconciled Data Dictionary (RDD) 1.0]

This draft standard specifies XML data element definitions and tag names (e.g., "arrestDate") for a standardized XML data element dictionary for use by Justice and Public Safety organizations. Principles and Guidelines for the XML Specification Development are also included, as are Guidelines for tag-name content and enumeration. Also included is a list of accepted abbreviations and acronyms for use in tag names. Enables groups like RISS, RapSheet,Legal XML, and AAMVA, et al. to share information using a common set of data elements. Allows rapid oordination of multi-agency effort [e.g., rescue].
Other Standards: This standard was developed by identifying, expanding, and reconciling common data elements in the RISS XML specifications, Rap Sheet, and LegalXML Court Filing Standard Initiative, as well as data elements from AAMVA, et al. A schema- based version of the Data Dictionary resulted in the Data Dictionary Schema (DDS 2.0), which is now available. See the attached figure for a full description of the relationship between the two documents.
