Sexual Offender Registry Tool (SORT) Entry
Web Site Link:
The Sexual Offender Registry Tool (SORT) is the information system used by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) to hold and maintain records on registered sexual offenders within the State of Georgia. The SORT offender records are maintained by the criminal justice agency having jurisdiction over the offender. Much of the record maintenance is performed using the SORT user interface. However, the offender data often already exists in another information system, providing the opportunity to enter and update SORT offender records electronically. Thus, the purpose of the SORT Entry IEPD is to provide a pair of information exchanges to request entry or update of registered sexual offender information in SORT and receive the result of the request. It can be used where registered sexual offender information is available in another information system and can be transferred to SORT electronically. This reduces staff demands and improves data quality by reducing or eliminating manual entry of the information into SORT.
