Global Strategic Solutions
Global's Strategic solutions addressed high-priority information sharing business problems that have an impact on justice practitioners and resulted in the development of effective solutions that increase public safety and advance the administration of justice. Through input from the field, Global identified priority business problems and uses a systematic process to fully consider evolving technology and the dynamic demands on the justice and public safety enterprise. Determination of solutions includes a focus on evidence-based practices, as well as rigorous attention to privacy, civil rights, and civil liberties protections.
About the Global Strategic Solutions
In support of the overall mission of the Global Justice Information Sharing Initiative (Global), and with particular emphasis on providing the greatest value to fellow practitioners, the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), and the public, Global’s former Strategic Solutions Working Group (GSSWG) identified priority justice business problems that could be significantly addressed through information sharing solutions. This value is realized through more effective, efficient, and coordinated business operations. Identification of priorities includes consideration of the complementary goals of supporting federal agencies, such as DOJ, the Office of Justice Programs (OJP), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), and mission partners such as Global partners, industry, and other federal organizations.
GSSWG addressed the following priorities:
Prescription Drug Monitoring
Corrections Management and Reentry
Cyber Collaboration in Support of SLT Agencies
National Information Exchange Federation (NIEF) Adoption and Scalability
Video National Standards in Support of Criminal Investigations
Justice to Health Exchanges
Global continues to identify and develop resources to address high-priority justice needs through the establishment of ad-hoc task teams which are now guided by Global’s Executive Steering Committee (GESC).
